On February 20, in the main building of ANAS, the next meeting of the ANAS Joint Trade Union Committee was held.

During the meeting, the chairman of the organization, Doctor of Law, Professor Habil Gurbanov submitted a report of the organization led by him for 2019. He said that last year a number of measures were taken to support employees engaged in scientific activities, evaluate their work, solve their financial and social problems, including ensuring their participation in cultural and mass ceremonies and effective leisure activities.

He noted that in the reporting year, 379 people were sent to sanatoriums, 215 received free medical examinations, and scientific institutions and organizations were provided with the necessary medicines and primary medical equipment. Speaking about the work done to improve the social security of the academy staff, H. Gurbanov said that in 2019 financial benefits were allocated. In addition, in order to ensure the cultural leisure of scientists, 1645 tickets to theaters and concerts were allocated, and more than 4000 New Year tickets were purchased for the children of ANAS employees.

Speaking about the activities organized by the trade union, the speaker said that last year, with the support of the Trade Union Committee, a number of conferences were held on International Women's Day, gender equality, women in science and so on. In addition, this year in 20 institutions of ANAS educational events on coronavirus were organized with the participation of epidemiologists invited from the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology.

After hearing the report, discussions were held and questions were responded. The report was considered satisfactory.

The meeting also decided to hold events in scientific institutions and organizations dedicated to war and labor veterans on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the victory of May 9 over fascism. In addition, the new chairman of the trade union organization of the ANAS High Technology Park was approved by the members of the union.
