French scientists have successfully tested a new type of medicine against coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the infectious disease COVID-19.

In a study conducted with the staff of the Infectious Diseases Hospital of the University Hospital of Marseille (France), patients who showed symptoms of COVID-19 or the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a nasopharynx sample participated in the study. Among them, 16 people made up the control group, whose representatives received symptomatic treatment and antibiotics. The other 14 people took hydroxychloroquine for ten days, with six of them taking azithromycin additionally.
