Institute of Physiology n.a. academician Abdulla Garayev of the ANAS completed the next stage of the action on 29 November, 2018, initiated by the administration and the Council of Young Scientists of the institute and aimed at drawing attention to the problem of irrational use of paper, promoting the ideas of its reuse and promoting respect for natural resources.

     For 10 months, the institute staff collected used paper at an improvised reception center on the premises of this institution. In total, 1.5 tons of waste paper was delivered to the paper recycling center from the Institute of Physiology.

     The purpose of the action is to draw the population’s attention to the problem of the rational use of natural resources and the preservation of the forest wealth of our country. According to a study by environmentalists, recycling a ton of waste paper in comparison with recycling wood saves 20,000 liters of water, 1,000 kilowatts of electricity and prevents the release of 1,700 kilograms of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. In turn, the production of paper from recycled materials can not only reduce the amount of debris, but also reduce deforestation.
