The 9th Congress of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics was held in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The event is dedicated to fundamental gerontology, geriatric practice, demographic aspects of aging, medical and social assistance to the elderly, their social status and their role in society.

At the invitation of the President of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, the director of the Institute of Physiology, Doctor of Biological Sciences - Ulduz Hashimova also participated.

As the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Society of Gerontologists, U.Hashimova also participated in the  elections of the leadership of the International Association and the Executive Committee.
