As part of the 40th session of the UNESCO General Conference, the list of Jubilees of the Organization for 2020-2021 has been approved.

Pursuant to meeting criteria of reflecting values, cultural diversity and universality of the organization, recognizing beyond his country, and attaching regional importance, 150th anniversary of the birth of the celebrate playwright, public figure Abdurrahim Hagverdiyev has been included in the list of Jubilees of the UNESCO.

The document prepared by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan National Commission for UNESCO and the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to UNESCO, has been positively evaluated by the Secretariat of the organization.

The events dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev will be held at the UNESCO level in 2020.

In addition, "850th anniversary of the philosopher and writer - Ahi Evran" jointly presented by Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran has been also included in the Jubilee list.
