The President of ANAS academician Ramiz Mehdiyev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Azerbaijan, Augusto Massari.
The meeting was also attended by the first vice presidents of ANAS - academician Isa Habibbayli and academician Ibrahim Guliyev.
During the meeting, which was held at the Presidium of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Italy span a long historical period. Recalling the recent visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Italy, the head of the academy said that cooperation between our countries has been successfully developing in all areas. Highly appreciating the relations between Azerbaijan and Italy that have developed in a number of industries, including in the scientific sphere, Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev emphasized the advisability of developing and implementing new research projects. Emphasizing that it is necessary to further expand the relationship between ANAS and scientific organizations in Italy, the president of the academy emphasized the importance of the cooperation agreement that the parties plan to sign. Recalling his recent meeting with the head of the well-known Italian publishing house Sandro Teti, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev noted that books that will be translated into Italian will tell Italian readers not only about political life in Azerbaijan, but also about the development of science and literature.
Thanking the President of ANAS academician Ramiz Mehdiyev for the warm welcome, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Azerbaijan Augusto Massari spoke about the history of relations between the two countries. Expressing his confidence in expanding ties between research organizations of both countries, the ambassador emphasized the importance of the protocol being prepared for signing and spoke about the details of the document.
The head of the Office of External Relations of the ANAS Presidium apparatus, PhD in Biology Esmira Alirzayeva said that the protocol on scientific cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy is at the final stage of development, and then spoke in detail about joint projects that are implemented by scientific institutions of both countries.
