On November 19, 2019 the reporting meeting on the scientific and organizational activity of the Institute of Physiology, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was held. The event was attended by academician Irada Huseynova, vise-president of ANAS; corresponding member Nuru Bayramov, Deputy Academician-Secretary of Biological and Medical Sciences Division of ANAS and Afig Mammadov, Scientific Secretary of the same division.

The meeting was opened by Prof. Ulduz Hashimova, Sc.D. in Biology, Director of the Institute. Summing up the activity of the Institute during the reporting period, prof. Hashimova said that, in 2019, 12 themes were carried out upon the key priorities of the institution as well as 55 stages upon 29 research works.

Professor noted that the Institute's researchers published 127 scientific works including 4 monographs, 59 articles (34 - in foreign journals) and 62 theses (52 - in foreign journals). 15 articles were published in journals with Impact-factor.

Also Ulduz Hashimova provided the information on the implementation of 9 grants, development of the institute's international relationships and the participation of the researchers in international scientific events. Reporting on the achievements of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, prof. Hashimova noted its increasing activity in social life.

Ulduz Hashimova said that, at present, there are 8 Ph.D.-students and 15 dissertationists that are receiving a postgraduate education in "Human and Animals Physiology" and "Biochemistry" specialties and 1 Master student in the Institute.

A special stress was placed on the branch of "Human and Animals Physiology" chair of Baku State University, operating under the Institute of Physiology and the assistance of the latter, provided to the Educational Complex # 132-134 in preparation to the contests in Biology. It was pointed out that the project submitted by the pupils of the mentioned Complex received the 3rd place at VIII Republic "Scientists of Tomorrow" Contest.

At the end of the reporting meeting there were discussions and suggestions.
