Academician Akif Alizadeh, President of ANAS got familiar with the construction works at the Institute of Physiology.

Professor Ulduz Hashimova, Director of the Institute familiarized the head of ANAS with the administrative premises, departments, laboratories of the institute after reconstruction.

Academician Akif Alizadeh visited the newly created Experimental Transplantology and Immunophysiology Laboratory. The head of the laboratory, urologist-transplantologist - Rashad Sholan, PhD reported about the structure of the laboratory.

Dr. Sholan said that the building has a vivarium for keeping large and small animals that will be involved in the experiment, animal surgery, immunophysiology, tissue histology analysis. He outlined the priorities of the laboratory, which are the use of marginal donor organs, the development of new drugs and techniques for the use of immunologically unsuccessful donors, the creation of an environment for organ reservation, the expansion of organ transplant boundaries, and the implementation of multiorgan transplantation.

The scientist noted that the laboratory will benefit from the experience of Yonsei University in the Republic of Korea. Speaking about the future of transplantation, the head of the lab also said that medical studies are ongoing to transplant childhood, environment, intestines and other organs.

The President of ANAS highly evaluated the repair and reconstruction work and gave appropriate instructions and recommendations.

The vice-president of ANAS - academician Irada Huseynova, academic secretary of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences - academician Ahliman Amiraslanov, Head of Office of Affairs - Fatali Abdullayev, Sc.D. and directors of the scientific institutions also got acquainted with the reconstruction works at the institute.
